Shamrock Dog Treats

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with your pooch by making a batch of Shamrock Dog Treats just for them. Here's a recipe we unearthed on iheartdogs.com. 

Ingredients:

1 cup of whole wheat flour
1 cup of cooked peas (canned or frozen)
1 cup of spinach
1/4 cup canola oil
1 egg
1 tsp sea salt
1 additional egg for egg wash

Directions:

• Preheat oven to 350° F
• Mix dry ingredients in a big bowl
• Puree peas and spinach together in blender or food processor
• Add the green mix to the dry mix, and then add 1 egg
• Blend until mixture forms a dough
• Cover or wrap dough and chill for 20 – 30 minutes
• Once chilled, sprinkle it with a bit of flour and roll it out to between 1/4 – 1/2 inch thick, then cut into fun shapes (like shamrocks)
• Place on cookie sheet, then lightly egg wash them to make them shiny.
• Bake for 20 – 30 minutes or until done
