Kamp K-9 is devastatingly sad to advise that our facility will be closing very soon, HOWEVER, we are hoping to find a new location to continue looking after your fur-babies. The new landlord/developer that took over the building last year advised that they want to receive almost double the rent that we are able to pay now and won’t put any money at all into the maintenance of the building required at this time. They are forcing us to be out of the building in a month (not sure of an actual date yet). I have spoken to our lawyer and there is not much recourse. As such, and not wanting to “give up” (it’s not my style) we are diligently looking for an alternative building/property to start anew – preferably around 10,000 square feet, with an “Industrial” classification, Zoned either E2 or E3 and a minimum of 400 ft (120m) away from any residential area.
We will also be looking for a contractor(s) who will be able to assist in moving the insides of our current location (plexi-glass, rubber flooring, fencing, grooming equipment, etc.) to a new location. As well, the furniture, washer/dryer, cabinets, computers and, of course our fence outside will also require re-locating (even just to a temporary location if necessary so we don’t lose our stuff).
Please, if there is anyone out there that can help us find a new location (preferably not too far from the one we have now) or help us with any other part of this catastrophe, we are open to any ideas/ suggestions. Please keep in mind that we are on a tight budget.
It may be unrealistic, only given one month, but we are hoping to do all of this before our time runs out. There are dogs that have been booked for boarding that we don’t want to disappoint and, of course, all of our other clients and staff as well. There are no extensions being allowed. If this can happen sooner than later, hopefully we will be able to keep the amazing staff we finally got together (they have all advised they will continue to work with us) to make a seamless transition. Our trainers have also advised that they will follow us to a new location.
We thank-you for any support/ideas that you could possibly provide and truly hope we can continue to serve you and your wonderful furry family members as your “One Stop Dog Spot” in the GTA for many more years to come. We will keep you advised of all developments in this regard. Thank-you.
